Fire Command 1B - Incident Management for Company Officers
This course provides the student with information on tactics, strategies, and scene management for multi-casualty incidents, hazardous materials incidents, and wildland fires. Each student also has the opportunity to increase his or her knowledge and skills by handling initial operations at these types of incidents through simulation and class activities.
A big component of the Command 1B class is Multi-Casualty Incidents. We utilize the table top simulator for train crashes as well as a few other scenarios.
This scenario from the Fire Command 1B class involves a train vs. a school bus. It empahasizes proper triage, tracking and transportation of patients.
We also focus on Incident Command for Hazardous Materials Response during the Fire Command 1B course.
The table top simulator is an easy way to put the Haz-Mat Technicians to work.
